Healthcare for Women is now offering child birth education classes! We would like to help you prepare for the birth and care of your newborn. We are happy to offer now Breastfeeding, Infant Skills and Childbirth classes ! Our classes are open to our patients and to the community.
We recommend that you take classes and a tour of the hospital in your second or early third trimester. Tours of the hospital are free and you can register at www.virginiahospitalcenter.com.

This is a prenatal class that helps you prepare for breastfeeding. The class covers breastfeeding basics, positioning, holds, latching, and problem solving. It includes feeding while in the hospital and reaching your goals once you are home. LEARN MORE & REGISTER
This is a prenatal class that prepares you for taking care of your baby. Class content includes what to expect following the birth of your baby through the first month. Sleep expectations and safety recommendations are reviewed. The class includes opportunities to learn and practice new infant skills. LEARN MORE & REGISTER
The Childbirth Education class is 5 hours long and covers 3rd trimester pregnancy, labor and birth, warning signs, comfort measures & relaxation, medications, cesarean birth basics, and postpartum expectations.
